Growing up in Peru, I learned about natural cures. Treatments like cat’s claw for cancers, which by the way my 82 year old WWII Veteran Marine used to lower his psa (prostate marker for cancer), from 11to 1.8 points! Peruvians have dozens of teas in their menu's. Markets are filled with rows of true "health foods" like  the coca tea for altitude sickness and cereals grown from 2000 years ago. We have Inca villages with centenarias... that should say something!

Working with the Ministry of Fauna and Flora in Peru where Dr Fernando Cabieses travelled to remote locations for research purposes there was evidence of the pharmacological functions of plants. Translations from indigenous tribes and even seminars were pesented with the assistance of doctors regarding Peruvian herbal medicine. For 2 months I travelled with the Christian Wycliff foundation to very  isolated areas of Peruvian jungle, where only herbal remedies are used.  Fevers, dysenteries,  pain and all sorts of skin lesions are taken care of with effective results.

My mother's brother Dr. Jaime Ariansen; an Agriculture Engineer wrote two volumes of pharmaceutical uses for peruvian herbal medicine. His work is very respected by doctors. While Peru has the largest areas of protected forest in South America and its culture is deeply rooted in Herbal Medicine, it also has the largest Chinese community. My practice of acupuncture, chinese and peruvian medicine went well as I did reports on tv and the papers.

In 1977, I went to college in Mt Vernon, Washington D.C, but it wasn’t until 1986 that I traveled to China.

Following my one year education program at the College of Traditional Medicine Shanghai, I then went on a 4 month, one-on-one internship with a Master in Hong Kong and later to do an internship at Colombo, Sri Lanka’s hospital. Sri Lanka was at war at the time. While doing an internship in the pediatric department working with children as young as 8 who were mostly HIV positive, Acupuncture and Homeopathy were used to treat the symptoms and regress the pathology of the immunodeficiency.  During my internship, a team of doctors from Australia offered me a grant for the University in Perth. But I followed dad's advice for the United States, and received my Masters degree with honors from the University of South Baylo in California. The US has the best schools or Oriental Medicine outside of China. California is where all the PhD's come to stay.

I taught for 4 years at the California Naturopathic College and worked in Project Walk where a unique team uses acupuncture and physical therapy to treat spinal cord injury, trauma and post stroke.

My son is now 10 and my husband and I love to backpack all over this world.  We are both advanced open water divers and have seen God's infinite Creation live in amazing harmony under the sea. He is an avid sportsman who ventures from flying, hiking the earth and diving the deep water of this awesome planet.  Both of them get acupuncture and herbal medicine.
